The Centralized Exam for Class X marks the completion of a program of study on the fundamentals and faith of our Holy Church. The information contained in his document is a high-level overview of the exam, process, expectations, etc. please feel free to contact the CEP Team, at any time with questions, comments, and concerns. Eligibility Requirements
- Any student, who has completed the assigned 10th Grade Sunday School course from one of the Churches under the jurisdiction of the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church in North America, during the current year, is eligible to take the exam.
- There are no age restrictions for participating in the exam. However, only those students who are of age 18 or below, and have completed the 10th Grade curriculum in the current year, are eligible to be rank holders.
- Students from the previous years (either who did not pass or did not take the exam in the year of their course completion) are also welcome to take the exam. However, they will not be eligible for ranks.
Exam Format
This year is the first year we will be conducting an “Online” exam. The exam will be electronic on: https://exam2020.msossa.org/

- 30%: Holy Bible
- 15%: Holy Church and Tradition
- 15%: Faith in Practice
- 20%: A Guide to the Holy Qurbono, published by H.E. Yeldho Mor Titus, (whole book)
- 10%: Songs
- 10%: Prayers

Question on Prayer
The following prayers will be subject to testing on the actual exam. All students are encouraged to memorize both. Students will need to write one of them on the exam (their choice.) Prayers can be written in English, Manglish or Malayalam.

- Psalms 51 (official version)
The only accepted versions are those from:
- “Service Book of the Holy Qurbono According to the Rite of the Syriac Orthodox Church in North America”
- or “Church Family Prayer Book” published St. Paul’s Men’s Fellowship
- or current “Sunday School Book”
Question on Song
The following songs will be subject to testing on the actual exam. All students are encouraged to memorize all three song. Students will need to write 2 of these songs on the exam (their choice.) Songs can be written in English, Manglish, or Malayalam.

- Hymn during Holy Communion (first 5 stanzas) (official version)

Short Answer Guidelines
Students will be required to answer 10 questions in this sections. Students must answer the question in 2-3 complete sentences.
Exam Evaluation / Scores
Due to CoVid-19, this year’s exam will be only evaluated as PASS / FAIL. There will be no ranking.
Note to the Students
Communication: As explained above, a special email id (cep@msossa.org) has been set up for your convenience to approach the CEP with any questions or concerns you may have about the centralized exam. Please let the CEP know if you have any questions or comments.
Student Survey: Student feedback obtained from the past tests have immensely helped in the restructuring and improving the centralized test questions. As in the past, this year’s final test also will have a feedback session and you are requested to provide your candid comments. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
